Why Stockfish is so expensive?
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Stockfish is a staple in Nigerian cuisine, yet its high price and unpredictable supply make it a complex commodity. This film explores the journey of stockfish from Norway to Nigeria, uncovering the economic and logistical factors that drive its cost.
My Role: Location scouting, DP, and Aerial DP in Norway. I filmed at a fish factory in Lofoten, capturing the traditional drying process and the scale of production. In collaboration with a filmmaker in Nigeria, we completed the story by showcasing both ends of the supply chain.
Highlights: The documentary has been viewed over 5 million times on YouTube, sparking global interest in the stockfish trade.
